It has been a while
since I posted about Dad’s suspenders. This was a project I started when my
father passed away 1-1/2 years ago. I started collecting distillery lapel pins
and put them on his black tuxedo suspenders. Things have grown to the point where
a second set of suspenders came into play – the brown ones belonged to my
father-in-law, Hooter, who passed away almost seven years ago.
These suspenders
hang in my Whiskey Library, and I see them almost all day while I work. It is
like Dad and Hooter are here with me.
Dad loved
traveling to Europe and Asia. His suspenders get the world distillery pins.
Hooter was a USAF Vietnam veteran and a huge patriot, so his suspenders hold
the American pins.
The original
idea was Mrs. Whiskeyfellow’s, and I’m so glad I listened to her.
