When I get an influx of “Hey,
are you on TikTok?” questions from followers, it piques my curiosity. Yes,
I have a TikTok account, but no, I am not on TikTok.
As it turns out, people are
impersonating me, using my real name, my business name, and my logo, to try and
scam you out of your hard-earned money. I have reported this to TikTok. TikTok
asked me to take a selfie with me holding my driver’s license, which I did. I
also sent them a selfie of me holding my business card with my logo, and TikTok
rejected all of those, claiming that the people impersonating me are not
violating any Community Standards.
I have one, and only one,
post on TikTok, and it is a video I made this morning to warn folks on that
platform that I do not engage with TikTok, that I do not sell whiskey, and that
I do not participate in the secondary market.
There are, unfortunately, a lot of bad actors out there who will do anything to scam you. Please understand that TikTok doesn’t care about protecting you from them.
