Two Stacks "Dram in a Can" Double Irish Cream Liqueur Review

Back in 2023, I discovered Two Stacks Irish Whiskey and its Dram in a Can blended Irish Whiskey. It looked gimmicky, but what was inside that 100mL can was so delicious that it earned my 2023 Irish Whiskey of the Year!

Shane McCarthy, Liam Brogan, and Donal McLynn founded Two Stacks Irish Whiskey in 2020 as one of only a handful of independent bonding and blending facilities in Ireland. As the brand has grown (and it produces some pretty awesome whiskeys in traditional bottles), it has needed help handling distribution. In the USA, Two Stacks has partnered with Foley Family Wines & Spirits.

In 2025, Two Stacks launched its Two Stacks Double Irish Cream Liqueur in glass bottles. Mrs. Whiskeyfellow and I plowed through our 750mL in no time. For 2026, this liqueur is now part of the Dram in a Can program.

“The 100ml spirits segment generated more than $217 million in U.S. sales over the past year, growing 7% versus the prior year—four percentage points faster than Total Spirits. As consumers gear up for the holidays, we anticipate Two Stacks Dram in a Can will be a great option for gifting and entertaining, in a convenient format that will also encourage sampling.” - Foley Family Wines & Spirits CMO Jason Daniel

The Irish whiskey component is made from a blend of 40% grain (Bourbon Cask), 40% grain (American Oak), 8% pot still, 10% double malt, and 2% peated malt - yeah, peated malt! It aged for 4+ years, and then blended with the cream, which is sourced from Robert A. Merry & Co. in Clonmel, Co. Tipperary, cited as Ireland’s premier dairy region.

Foley Family Wines & Spirits was kind enough to provide me with a sample of this Dram in a Can in exchange for my no-strings-attached, honest review. Let’s #DrinkCurious!

Appearance: I used a rocks glass to explore this Irish cream. It looked exactly like chocolate milk. While I’m unsure what it might suggest, I observed a thick rim with evenly spaced, wide, slow tears.

Nose: While exploring the nose, the first thing I smelled was milk chocolate, much like a freshly-made Hershey’s bar, which was followed by rich vanilla cream and a touch of nutmeg. I inhaled the vapor into my mouth and found more vanilla cream. So far, no peated smokiness.

Palate: The texture was dense and creamy, much like drinking a milkshake. I tasted malted milk chocolate, vanilla, nutmeg, and toffee. It lacked a front, middle, or back (and no peat).

Finish: Along with malted milk chocolate and vanilla came a gentle, smoky quality. The experience lasted 48 seconds, longer than I expected from a whiskey cream.

Bottle, Bar, or Bust: If you’re afraid of or have a general dislike of peat, don’t let that stop you. It is pretty subtle and, frankly, the other flavors are the stars of the show. I found Two Stacks Double Irish Cream Liqueur to be sinfully elegant. It is one of those things that I don’t even care what it costs. My Bottle err Can rating is the only option!
